Ellen Melville Centre comes alive with a live performances by The Mighty Herbsmen, a traditional Māori shared meal to sample and games to take part in. A space for all community to join in the festivities and share in Te Ao Māori experiences.
Every Thursday throughout June, Ellen Melville Centre is celebrating the start of Matariki, with a selection of unique events that share with you taonga (treasures) from within Te Ao Māori.
Visit the centre and experience a selection of works by Māori artists on show daily, including a new Oro/Waiata sound installation from Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei musician Majic Pāora.
